Xàbia asks the State for 85,000 euros in aid for the work of repairing damages caused by the storms this winter

Xàbia has asked the State for financial aid totalling 85,000 euros in line with subsidies open to municipalities that suffered damages as a result of the storms of rain, wind and coastal phenomena experienced this winter.

Through a resolution of the mayor, José Chulvi, addressed to the Subdelegation of the Government in Alicante, the municipality lists the main work that had to be undertaken “urgently and necessary” for safety and to restore normality to the population after the Great Storm of January 27. These include the opening of a ditch on Avenida Mediterráneo, the cleaning and repair of a section of  the Gorgos river, the removal of trees & service interventions. In total there are expenses of 64,521 euros.

The City Council has also asked to benefit from the subsidy of up to 50% of the total that has been disbursed in the restitution of infrastructures and equipment, which in the case of Xàbia amounted to 41,500 euros. This section includes the repair of the banks of the river Gorgos; in streets such as Manuel Bordes Valls and Bologna; the reinforcement and cleaning of a section of the sewage drainage & also in the canal; the cleaning of the paseo of La Grava; the replacement of traffic signs in roads and walks; the cleaning of the drains of the ravine of San Antonio, and the two repairs of the deck in the municipal trinquet and also in the Palau d’Esports.
